All weddings, regardless of the season in which they take place, include the color white. White is the color that pops into everyone's head when they think about weddings. Some brides choose to use only whites and creams in their wedding - using these colors alone creates a more traditional wedding. However, most brides use white in conjunction with other wedding colors.
White can be added to any color combination; it lightens up bouquets and arrangements that are dark and fits right in with lighter colored flowers.
Even if you are choosing to wear a different colored gown and no one is wearing white, usually people will still utilize this color if even only as an accent color. A few strands of baby breathe in the centerpieces, some white roses or other flowers worked into the bouquet. Even some white used on a colored wedding cake.
Pink is one of the most popular summer wedding colors. You can use pink in a variety of shades from the palest of blushes to the hottest of pinks you can imagine. One of the great things about choosing pink as a wedding color is that there are so many summer flowers available in pink. Your choices for centerpieces, bouquets, and arrangements are pretty much wide open.
Pink is a great stand-alone color. However if you are looking to add it to other colors some great choices are white, red, purple, and yellow.
Yellow is a fabulous color for summer weddings. It is bright and cheery. Yellow reminds people of sunny days, happiness, and carefree times. It is the perfect color for a summer wedding.
You could either use yellow alone or merge it with other colors like red, pink, or white.
Purple is one of my favorites of all of the summer wedding colors. I love the different shades. If you are leaning towards more of a pastel color scheme, especially if your wedding is closer to the beginning of the summer, lavender and lilac are nice choices. Of course, you can also use darker purples to create a look of royalty or just to create a beautiful and dramatic statement.
Purple looks great alone, but if you are looking to add some more color in considering using white, pink, and yellow.
I know at first though red does not seem to fit in with the other summer wedding colors, in fact, many think it works best for fall weddings. The darkness of the color does lend itself to work quite well with autumn weddings, but the boldness works well with the summer season as well. Red stands for love, romance, and passion, as do most weddings and this is one of the reasons why it will work so well for your summer wedding.
Red looks great with white, pink, and purple - especially the lighter shades as it allows the red to stand out even more.
