What Decorating Options Do You Have?

You really can choose to either go all out or just add a few subtle touches that will show your western theme. You can choose to decorate the cake completely, add accents to the cake, use a western or country themed cake topper or decorate the cake table itself.

Creating Western Wedding Cakes

If you choose to decorate the cake itself, there are a number of ways to achieve your own unique theme. Some popular ways to add some country or western flair to your cake would be to include designs on the cake such as cowboys, horses, cowboy boots, farm animals, sunflowers, cactuses, western themed belt buckles, ropes or lassos.

If you are looking for a more traditional wedding cake with a touch of country feel then perhaps you want to just add some nice cascading flowers or leaves to your cake. Leaves, ribbons, fruit are pretty but basic flowers such as dogwood can add the look and feel you are looking for while allowing the rest of your cake to maintain a fresh, clean look.

When creating western wedding cakes you may choose to use a basic or colored cake style and add your country and western themes with your cake toppers. Cake toppers have come a long way from the traditional bride and groom. There are many different types of wedding cake toppers to choose from these days including ones that are cowboy boots, have lassos, or depict country living.

Decorating The Cake Table

You can decorate your cake table with western themes to either add to everything else you have already accomplished, or to stand alone, as a small accent of the theme without actually touching the cake or topper with any western or country theme at all. You can choose to add the western wedding theme by adding small trinkets or decorations to the table, like belt buckles, photos of the country or old west or choosing a more western version of the cake knife and cake server.
